And in addition to moody lamp lighting, I recommend smart bulbs that can be scheduled to turn on/off at certain times, and have other settings that help me with routines such as a dimming period at 10pm in the living room so I know I should start migrating to the bedroom. I also like to have them come on before getting home from work so the house isn't dark when I get in. Smart bulbs are a little luxury I am so grateful for!
i've persuaded myself to get up earlier in exchange for staying cozy (and maybe lazy) at night, so i don't feel as guilty. i'm a figure skater and would normally go to the rink after work / on an evening, but now i just go first thing in the morning - on the ice before the sun is up - and then i get a warm shower, hot coffee, and carry on with my day, knowing that i get to go straight home at night and stay there!
it also adds some extra alone time, which i really need every day.
I love this! The format is very digestible for someone with ADHD (me) and the lists were wonderfully put together. You have great taste and I hope to see more of your content!
Before I could start dwelling on the negatives of this time of year, I wrote a list in my journal of the things that bring me joy during winter, the charms we can savor only in this season. Examples of mine include seeing animal tracks in the snow and the muted silence of a winter morning after snowfall. Bonus: my pets are cold too and get extra snuggly this time of year 💞
I’ve been waking up earlier, taking longer than normal morning walks, and just invested in the Philips hue bulbs so I can have super vibey lighting at 4:30. I am FIGHTING BACK against the early darkness this year.
I have cozy lights everywhere. A few cute little lights that only take a 4 watt bulb. I have Christmas lights on my mantle all year round. I have battery operated candles on a timer to come on when it’s dark. In my home office I have a therapy light. I’m thinking about the red light mask though. That’s a nice luxury.
Since I don’t do mornings well, I welcome the earlier sunrise because it helps me start my day. And the earlier sunset, I just go in my backyard and enjoy it like I do almost every day of the year!

I'm always so mad that setting time limits on apps works so well so immediately.
perfect list 🖤

Love this list! Getting a lovely robe is on my list, the Brookline one looks amazing 🤩
Also I like to have floor pot lights to illuminate the dark corners and plants. They come on a timer so which makes it even better.

Yes to all of it! Thrifted lamps are my current jam, no corner can escape my wrath.
thank you for permission to fully lean into my comfort shows this fall 🧡

Oooooh these tips are just what I needed!
Maybe this is the year I finally start using a humidifier for the dry winter air.
Loved this!!
