amsterdam isn't big, so hotels near the city center are expensive. everything has to be booked waaaay ahead of time- especially the van gogh museum and anne frank's house. the street market's stroompwaffel was awesome.
in paris every little corner is historical. they have an ethnography museum I love (quai branly) and my wife is crazy about a store called sézane.
